He Killed My Baby Print E-mail

3/30/11This is a tough one, Lord. But, I know You understand. So tell me Lord, what was it like when Herod was hunting down baby Jesus to kill Him? How did You feel? How did Mary and Joseph make it through that? What about all those parents whose baby boys were killed? I know that's Satan's work, his plan—to kill, steal, and destroy. Satan is still doing it. He did it to Tamika.

Tamika, Your child, whom You love, came into my office, stiff, like one who had been beaten down. She was beaten down, deep within her spirit. Finally, her tears broke through the walls of her own street tough self-protection. "He killed my baby."

Tamika became Your child a few months back, trying her best to make You the main man in her life. She struggles with depression, gets her meds only sometimes, but wants too often believes the sweet but empty promises of men who say they will care for her. She thought she had found him. A good man. And, as You know better than I Lord, she laid down with him on an empty promise of love, and she got pregnant.

The sweet promises became empty promises when she started showing. She got bigger, and to him, less desirable. He got drunk one night, accused her of cheating on him, when really he was the one who cheated. He became violent in his drunken stupor, and kicked Tamika in the stomach. She started bleeding, was rushed to the hospital, and there lost the baby. The cops came, and put a warrant out for his arrest. Murder.

The hardest part for Tamika was having to admit that she had placed herself in a situation that caused an unborn baby to be killed. Guilt. Pain. Shame. Hopelessness. Helplessness. Many tears. Many.

Tamika knows she will have to live with that, Father. Lord, help her to find peace, and to know that Satan still works his evil on little boys and girls. Help her to know that You have that child in Your arms.

Lord, Satan worked his evil on Tamika's baby. Help her break her the cycle of trusting untrustworthy men. Would You help her to recognize the untrustworthy Herod's when they come into her life like You did with the Magi? She needs Your help.

But still, I have to ask, knowing all that You did through the man Jesus, Lord, what could Tamika's baby have been?
