A New Creation Print E-mail

9/14/11 "I was walking around just this morning telling God that I needed a change, that I'm tired of the life I've been living, that I needed to move on to something better, that something has got to change, and asking Him where I could get the help I need."

Lord, he wasn't even supposed to come to RCM today. But he did, at the advice of some of our regulars. Julius is a working man and with the tiny bit of rain we had last night, the tree trimming company he works for took the day off. So, Julius showed up here, at RCM.

I walked by some guys at a table playing dominoes and noticed that Julius was looking at a stack of spiritual books. Though not his, I noticed he opened them gently gazing at each page carefully. I sat near him as the guys called their points and asked, "You a praying man?"

Julius smiled and I asked him into my office. As he told me his story, I had a moment, Lord. I thought, this is the same story I've heard so many times but never get tired of hearing, that being, that Julius knew You had brought him to this place.

When it came to decision time, about Julius surrendering to You, he spoke, "I was looking for a new life and today I have found it." He came out of the dressing room after his immersion saying, "No more old Julius for me."

... if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new is come! All this is from God ... 2Corinthians 5:17-18, NIV
